WHO STARTED CAPSULE WARDROBE?
Capsule Wardrobe was first started in the 1970's by a woman named Susie Faux. Faux was the owner of a London Boutique named "Wardrobe", she firmly believes that a person only needs a few staple pieces to have a great wardrobe. Faux recommends that women need these items in their closet:
- 2 pairs of trousers
- 2 dresses
- 2 skirt
- 1 blouse
- 1 sweater
- 2 tights
- 1 jacket
- 1coat
- 2 pairs of shoes
- 2 bags
- jewellery

While Faux introduced the idea of a limited closet in England, Donna Karan made the idea popular in America. She believed that a limited color scheme, and wise decisions could help bring a small wardrobe to life. Things that she suggested women keep in their closet consisted of seven "easy" items.
- pair of tights
- bodysuit
- classic white shirt
- pair of versatile trousers
- a cashmere sweater
- tailored jacket
- skirt
